FOR COLORED GIRLS... at The Public Theater

I am honored, humbled and profoundly grateful to bring Ntozake Shange’s masterpiece For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow is Enuf back to The Public Theater. Zake’s choreopoem is a classic of the theatrical cannon which continues to speak to generation after generation, and I my collaborators and I can not wait to create a production that speaks to what it means to be a ‘colored girl’ in today’s world. Thank you, Oskar Eustis, and THANK YOU dear Ntozake for trusting me with your baby. I feel you with me every day and I know we will make this production all that you had hoped and imagined.
